A native of San Francisco, Maureen Carey has a B.A. in European History from Regis University and a M.A. in American History from the University of Colorado. She is passionate about genealogy and has enjoyed tracing her own ancestry to colonial America. Her many research interests include America, Ireland, and Italy. In her free time, Maureen loves to read, travel, and spend time with her family, friends, and pets.
Elizabeth Peay studied at the University of Connecticut and Smith College, earning a dual B.A. in History and Classical Studies. Before joining the NEHGS team she worked as a lead guide at Roseland Cottage for Historic New England and completed an internship with the Tiffany Windows Education Center. Growing up in historic Lebanon (Connecticut) inspired Elizabeth’s research interests in Revolutionary War, Native American, and Colonial New England genealogy.
Tamura Jones is a computer scientist who writes about genealogy and technology on http://www.tamurajones.net; he is widely recognized as a leading genealogy technologist and innovator. As an Englishman living in Leiden and fluent in Dutch, he has focused on Leiden genealogy, and he has been researching Dutch Mayflower descendants since 2008. Michael joined the staff of New England Historic Genealogical Society in 2003. Michael worked for Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, in Boston for ten years before coming to NEHGS. He is a native of Boston and attended Bentley College in Waltham.
Kaitlin was a Design Assistant/Junior Project Manager at Great American Art where she directly contributed to $3 million in sales which led to a 42% growth increase. Previously she was a Museum Assistant for the Porter-Phelps-Huntington House Museum where she coordinated and marketed fundraising efforts and special events for the museum.
Kaitlin graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and History, and from the Commonwealth Honors College Scholar Program with a concentration in Multidisciplinary Honors. Kaitlin lives in Canton.
Although Maria grew up in England, she eventually moved to Boston where she has an extensive New England family. She graduated with a degree from the New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University and after working for a few years in publishing, she changed her professional career to managing the front office of a finance firm in Wellesley. During this time, Maria was an active volunteer for the Wellesley Historical Society. She is passionate about art and an avid history reader.
Chloe earned her B.A. in History at Connecticut College, with a concentration in Native American Studies. Currently, she is working towards her M.S. in Archives Management at Simmons College's Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Previously, Chloe has worked with the archive departments of Mount Auburn Cemetery and Boston University School of Law, and has completed internships with the Natick Historical Society and the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center. Chloe's research interests include colonial New England, Native American studies, and working with archival collections.
