Todd Pattison, Conservator, works to preserve and care for the Society’s collection of books, manuscripts, and fine art. Todd is an active member of the New England chapter of the Guild of Book Workers, a Fellow in the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC), and teaches the course “American Publishers’ Bookbindings, 1800-1900” for the Rare Book School at the University of Virginia. He has an undergraduate degree in Art History from Nazareth College and an M.L.S. from the University of Alabama.

Stacie Madden, Director of Development, has more than 20 years’ experience in development, marketing, communications, sales, community relations, and volunteer management. Prior to joining NEHGS, Stacie held leadership roles at HopeHealth, IFAW, EMD Serono, Dunkin’ Brands, and Reebok. She has a BA from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and an MBA from Babson College. She is president of the board of directors for Atlantic Symphony Orchestra and an adjunct professor at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University. A past secretary of the Scituate Cultural Council, Stacie is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Women in Development.

Margaret Talcott, who joined American Ancestors and NEHGS in early 2019 as Director of Signature and Literary Events, was previously the producer of literary programs at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where she presented nearly 200 writers, including David McCullough, Sonia Sotomayor, John Updike, Margaret Atwood, Ken Burns, Tom Brokaw, Doris Kearns Goodwin, and David Brooks in the celebrated series "Writers on a New England Stage" associated with New Hampshire Public Radio. She has interviewed authors Lee Child, Gail Collins, Amor Towles, Anna Quindlen, Daniel Pink, and Celeste Ng, among others. Margaret worked previously as a director and vice president of corporate marketing at Merrill Lynch in New York, in network news, and in book publishing. She graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Religion, and did post-graduate work in English literature at The Bread Loaf School at Middlebury College. She has served on boards and committees for many New York and New England nonprofits, including The Trustees of Reservations, Trinity Church in the City of Boston, the Currier Museum of Art (Manchester, New Hampshire), and Berwick Academy in South Berwick, Maine. Hallie Kirchner has a BA in history with minors in art history and German language from American University, as well as an MA in historic preservation from Tulane University. She joined NEHGS after several years working in architectural restoration and preservation in New Orleans. She has also worked at the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society, the West Virginia Railroad Museum, and Bender Library at American University. Her research interests include Germany, New York City, immigration history, and 19th-century America.

Matt Ottinger is the Director of Facilities for American Ancestors. He oversees the management of our physical plant, including maintenance, environmental systems, and safety and security programs. Matt is also a key member on the 97 Newbury Street planning team. He previously spent eleven years at the Bostonian Society/Old State House managing facilities and preservation work. A preservationist and historian by education and training, Matt’s earlier experience includes historic preservation work in Boston, Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Minnesota.

Rachel King is the director of the Wyner Family Jewish Heritage Center at NEHGS. In addition to her three decades of experience working for greater-Boston educational and cultural nonprofit organizations, Rachel brings a unique perspective to her role, as someone who has both a strong Jewish identity and Great Migration family history.

Shannon graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Boston in 2018 where she earned a BA in History and Anthropology. Before joining the NEHGS Membership team, she worked in the Member and Visitor Services department at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Shannon particularly enjoys the cultural aspects of history, including the arts, pop culture, and ever-changing sociological patterns throughout the times. Though her focus lies mostly within modern U.S. and European histories, Indigenous studies took a primary role during her time in college as well. Shannon also enjoys learning about cultures from around the world and hopes to travel to many places to become acquainted with their histories and customs first hand.

Georgiana is currently studying for a BA Hons in History and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh. She is working at NEHGS in Boston as a summer intern through the Saltire Foundation. She was particularly driven to take up the internship after the passing of her Gran, who was very invested in family history. In her spare time, Georgiana enjoys singing and acting and has taken part in many student productions during her University years.
